Effect of moisture content on properties of laminated glass
The moisture content of PVB intermediate film will directly affect many key properties of laminated glass, such as bond strength, impact resistance, etc., and also have a certain impact on the production of intermediate film stacking bond, prepressing effect, so the control of water content of PVB intermediate film is a key factor. For glass and PVB intermediate film has been selected, the moisture content of PVB intermediate film directly affects the bonding between the glass and PVB. The bonding force and impact resistance of laminated glass are directly related to the safety performance of laminated glass, so it is required to strictly control the moisture content of PVB intermediate film, so that the bonding force and impact resistance of laminated glass are controlled within the range of safety standards.
Because the glass used in the interlayer and its cleaning technology are different, the actual moisture content of PVB intermediate film needs to be controlled to obtain good adhesion and impact resistance. When producing laminated glass, the temperature and humidity range required by raw materials and technological conditions must be determined. Generally speaking, when the water content of PVB intermediate film is in the range of 0.3% ~ 0.5%, laminated glass can reach the predetermined bond strength and impact resistance. If the humidity of the lamination room deviates from the required humidity during processing, it must be restored to the required humidity to ensure the moisture content of PVB intermediate film. Since the diffusion rate of water is a function of the thickness of the interlayer and the condition of the interlayer, only when the condition of the interlayer is suitable can the moisture content of the intermediate PVB film stored in the interlayer be guaranteed to meet the requirements.
